Leach C. Mayon is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the State of Texas. She is the owner of her own private practice in the Houston Area called Guided Path Counseling and Family Services. She is one of NAMSHAR’s newest members specializing in reducing addiction symptoms and co-ocurring disorders among adults, adolescents, and children and families. A proud Houston native, she always knew that she would advocate for others in some way, initially considering Law School before become and Addiction Counselor.
Leah attended Bellevue University graduating with a BS in Behavioral Sciences. She also graduated from Capella University with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Through the course of her career, Leah has worked in residential and outpatient treatment. This led to the development of her own private practice, in, which she can give special attention to the marginalized populations in a therapeutic environment. Leah peaks and presents on mental health and substance use disorders. She focuses on family of origin issues and the impact of unresolved resentments and abandonment in her clients.As a substance abuse counselor, she also supervisors and trains other Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors-Interns seeking independent licensure.
Leah is a mother of three, a worshipper, avid reader, and she’s passionate about social justice, mental health, substance abuse, and making the families better.
